王观卜算子·送鲍浩然之浙东英译

Waters are Beauty’s glances—Which, on the lucky ones, fall.Mountains are Her painted brows,Not looking painted at all.

If you ask a traveler,Where he is going and why,“To see mountains and waters;To see Beauty’s brow and eye.”

Now, we’ve just seen Spring off.To be sent off, ‘tis your turn.If you catch Spring in Jiangnan,To live with him, you must learn.

王观简介

王观(生卒年不详)字通叟,海陵(今江苏泰州)人,为胡瑗门人。嘉祐二年(1057),任大理寺丞,知江都县。累官翰林学士。因词作《清平乐》有「黄金殿里,烛影双龙戏」、「折旋舞彻《伊州》,君恩与整搔头」等句,忤太后旨,翌日罢职。遂自号逐客,或称王逐客。往在太学时,秦观父赞其「高才力学」,故亦取子名为「观」。词集有《冠柳集》,不传。今有赵万里辑本。
